Squirrels are indigenous to every continent except Antarctica and Australia. I know lots of people who consider squirrels to be a pest but as an Australian that never grew up around squirrels, seeing a squirrel running about really does give me the sense that I am on vacation. I love watching their friendly antics and for me the world would be a less enjoyable place without the squirrel.
The best place to view squirrels is in Central Park, New York City. Be sure not to feed the little critters peanuts though, legumes are not good for them.
